I knew Orlando working with the city and I was always happy to bump in to him, where I was greeted with that huge smile of his. When his retirement announcement came out, I sent him a note saying that I would miss him and I wanted to let him know that the first thing out of anyone's mouth when his name was mentioned was "Great guy!" I can't think of any better way to be thought of. Yes, I agree, Orlando is a Great guy, but I couldn't think of a better person to be by his side than Carmela. Please accept my families condolences.

So very sad to hear of Orlando's passing. What a fine man he was, a true gentleman in every sense. We knew him as a dear friend and could only admire his wonderful optimism and of course the unabashed affection for family always on display. Especially towards his boys and his wife Carmella, the love of his life.
We'll remember his warmth, great sense of humour and infectious laugh. Orlando will be missed by all those who knew him.
