Condolences
Dear Bette and family,
My heartfelt condolences to each of you.
Henry was one of the finest human beings that I've known, and most deservedly had my utmost respect and admiration. I so valued his friendship; in the aspects of community service and board leadership I considered him a mentor; I will always cherish the time I got to spend with Henry. And as long as I live I will remember preparing to receive his serve in one of our tennis games - just seconds before he served Henry made a wryly hilarious quip and then aced me as I was already bent in half rocking with laughter. We couldn't play for at least a minute as we were both laughing uproariously. That's the way I will remember him: the man with the twinkle in his eye.
Fondly,
Corky McMechan
Bette
My deepest condolences.
I first met Henry in the early 1960's in Prince George where he served as the manager of the Safeway store. He was always fair and honest with me. Once when I was in Calgary at a new store opening on Mcleod Trail, Henry and other Safeway executives were standing at the front on the store, as I passed by he called out to me "hi Ken".
Henry was a leader I always admired!
Dear Bette and Family:
I am so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. He lived life to the fullest with his boundless energy and I am sure you are proud of his legacy. Bill and I loved having you as neighbours on the East Hill in Vernon. You kept your place in much better shape than we did. We learned a lot from you two and did better in our next house at the lake. All the best Bette as you enter a new chapter.
Blessings
Patricia Hesketh
