Condolences
Dear Marnie: I’m so very sorry to hear about Gerry; such a great loss. Although I didn’t know him well, I do remember he was always smiling even when health issues posed a challenge. I hope you have a lot of support from loved ones as you negotiate life without him; so very tough. I’d love to connect with you whenever you are up to it. Sending lots of hugs. Colette McIvor
So sad to hear of Gerry's passing although glad to hear he did it "his way". His quick wit and impish grin will be missed. You never really knew what to expect when talking with him.
Deepest condolences to Marnie, Carissa, and Darren.
Dear Marnie, Darren and Carissa (and families),
We were so saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. In the short time we were privileged to know him we have many happy memories. Certainly his sense of humour and enthusiasm for all things come immediately to mind. But his gentleness, his integrity and his compassion for all people will forever be at the top of my memory list of Gerry.
Your loss of husband, father and grandfather is great and painful. Please know that we acknowledge and share your pain. May his memory be a blessing for the ages.
With heartfelt sympathy ,
Kathy, Zane,Bennett and Matthew Polack.
So sad to hear of "Mr. Ward's' passing. Your father and family are great people and I have many fond memories growing up with Darren in Edmonton. As a child- my mother would take us to Woodwards and tell us that this is where Mr. Ward works- I remember wondering who Mr Wood was as I assumed that the Wards part was Darren's father. Your father was a very patient man who not only showed a great understanding of people, but who always took the time with them (even with his son's friends)- the world has lost a good man- there aren't many like him.
So many good memories. My sincere and heartfelt condolences.
Bennett Polack and Family.
I had the pleasure of working with Gerry at Woodward’s in the mid ‘80’s He was a tremendous leader and mentor. His leadership skills left a lasting impression on me that have never been equaled and to this day I refer to. His guidance was always from a positive, coaching perspective. He could remember every single staff members name, including casual part time, and made a point of going through the store and saying hi to them by name! I am saddened by the news. My sincere condolences to his family.

I first met the entire Ward in my first year of University.
Brother Brian and I were attending phased classes and he invited me to his house for a party.
I was amazed how everybody could Dance, especially Gerry and Marnie.
They took me in as if I was a family member.
We played golf at Tor Hill and later on at Leisure World.
Gerry had the best sense of humour.
You could see his smiling face from.a mile away and he was always ready to stir the pot.
Our Birdie juice soon turned into Bogey Juice and the scores didn't matter much any more.
Gerry will be missed here on Earth, but look out for heavenly Pickle Ball.
You will be missed but your memories will always be here.
God Bless
Love to all Rollie and Brenda

Our deepest condolences to Marnie, Carissa, Mike, Darren, Sarah and Lincoln. You have captured the essence of Gerry so perfectly. Gerry always made us laugh with his wit and antics. He had that beautiful contagious smile and was up for any new adventure. His dancing was amazing and we all loved to watch him spin Marnie around the dance floor with the love for her in his eyes. We are so fortunate to have the family as our friends and we will cherish the many memories we have together. Love and hugs Linda and Rob.
Our deepest condolences on your loss. May family and friends
comfort you at this time.

Sorrow will turn to great memories of Gerry and how he touch our lives. I enjoyed my time with Gerry and how he was always up beat and ready to enjoy his life too the max.
This completely sums up Gerry "He was a gentle, kind, funny man with the huge smile and a big laugh!" It was wonderful to have known him.
We will miss that laugh.
My heart hurts with sadness with the loss of Gerry for Marnie and the family. He was kind, gentle, and ever so funny. I remember he was such a STAR in dancing with the stars. He will be missed.
Marnie,
My heart breaks for you and your family. I loved spending time with my dear friend Gerry. He has a smile that lights up a room and come to think of it, I don’t think I have ever seen him without a smile. When I introduced him to mentoring with big brothers, I remember he jumped at the chance and did an incredible job. I will miss his smile and that great laugh of his. He is a true friend who always makes you feel welcome.
I can only imagine the loss you feel right now, Marnie and hope you will reach out to Donna and I when you are ready to. Gerry is no longer suffering and now is with God. He has all the answers to his questions of faith and I am sure he has already started a Pickleball league in heaven. God bless you my dear friend. I love you dearly and please call if you need anything.
From the first time I meet him I new we would have some great times playing Pickleball and telling jocks. He will be missed. To Marnie I send thoughts and prayers,
Don Zwart
We will miss his fun loving personality. We will always remember the golf trips, the marathon card games where the girls beat the guys and of course the many cocktails, dinners and of course the ensuing laughter . We will always be thankful for his patience while teaching us pickle ball. All of these things will be fondly remembered.
Love Ger and Di
Than you Gerry for being in our lives. You welcomed us and made us feel loved. You made us giggle especially when playing gin rummy. We didn’t exactly have the best table manners as a few curse words were use when the girls were winning. You will be forever missed. We love you Gerry Ward
Gerry had such a knack of making people smile and laugh, especially on the pickleball courts! We can see him now on the heavenly pickleball courts, running and outplaying everyone with a big smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Marnie, you are in our thoughts and prayers. XO Doug & Linda
