Condolences
Dear Vanessa, family & friends,
So sorry for your loss. I have so many good memories of Joel as a co-worker and friend. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor are remembered fondly, just to name a few. Thinking of you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Joel’s passing. I worked with Joel for many years at Stuart Olson. He was always willing to help out, and always saw the good in everyone. He was a sincere, kind and caring person and he will be sadly missed.
Deepest sympathies to Vanessa and all the family.

Joel will always be remembered as a kind and good man . I am so sorry to see him go to be with Father God, so young in his life. Vennessa and Kara , you will be in my prayers today and many days on the future. Live to you . Diane Farquhar
Still to this day one of the best Calgary memories my wife Jacki and I have was with Vanessa and Joel. We still laugh and tell the story to friends and family of our "attempt" to go the Def Leppard concert at the Saddle dome. We had tickets bought weeks in advance, hotel rooms booked at the Hotel Arts downtown and a great plan to spend the afternoon poolside sipping margaritas and Coronas, then casually strolling down to the show.....well....45 coronas and 78 Margaritas later (and Vanessa taking some great pictures with the plastics) Jacki and I were the only ones to make the show.....although I was kicked out 4 songs into Def Leppards set. Joel and I always said next time they are in town we will give'er again but with less day drinking, unfortunately...that will just remain a great memory....I don't think we could top that day anyways!! will miss ya bud.
I am so sad to hear of Joel’s passing. I remember when he first came to Edmonton and he started to apprentice in plumbing for Filax Mechanical. He was such a friendly hard working kid, learning the trade. Vanessa came to Edmonton also and they worked hard together. Her in the post office and him working alongside Art. Art thought highly of Joel and was proud of his work. Of course he was a little disappointed when Joel decided to move back to Kerrobert and start working on his own. Art would miss him, but he was also happy for him. My sincere condolences to Vanessa, Kara and all your family. He will be deeply missed.

My Sincere condolences Vanessa’s and Kara, although you don’t know me personally I spent much time with Joel from the moment he started with Stuart Olson and through out his career here. In Medicine Hat at the hospital we spent countless hours exploring solutions to mechanical issues and he was a professional through and through. His east coast Lobster orders were a yearly staple in our house and when we transferred back to Calgary he helped me with household Mechanical issues or ideas without waiver. We always kept in touch and enjoyed the conversation. I worked with him and foothills hospital and his expertise and thinking out of the box got us through some complex situations. We collaborated on submittals while he was in Lethbridge and connected always when seeking each other’s advise when out of of expertise. I considered him a friend of mine and he will be missed. I Cannot make his funeral as I will be out of town but wanted to say my piece as he was a great guy and I know it was shared by all. Hugs to all of you.
Sincerely
Ryan Foxcroft
My sincere Condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Joel's entire family. His passion and knowledge of his expertise and the value it bought to those he worked with and the clients he served was immense. It likely pales in comparison to those passions of his personal and family life. He will always be remembered by the 'Rider green golf shirt he wore in a recent meeting. God Bless, Joel.
Kara,
Very sorry to hear about your loss.
