Obituary of John MCBETH

November 3, 1930 – August 9, 2017 John McBeth of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the age of 86 years. John was the only child of Edith Brown and Norman McBeth of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. John immigrated to Calgary with his young family in 1971 where he continued as a very well respected Mechanical Designer. Not only did John have a successful working career, he was an amazing friend and father. John was involved in the design of heavy industrial processing plants and had a distinguished career as a Mechanical Designer. He made an impact with his knowledge and skill and made many life long friends along the way. Some of the companies John was employed with include Associated Engineering, Alsands, and Enersul (formerly Procor). John loved golf and golf loved John. Like everything he did, John was consistently great at it! In more recent years, he enjoyed his walks in Glenmore Park and his twice daily visits to the gym in his condominium building, yes, twice daily! John is survived by his daughters, Alison Verity (Rod) and Lisa McBeth (Clarence) all of Calgary. We often joked that Dad had more friends than his two daughters combined. He cherished his friends so much and they cherished him. Many, many thanks to all of those friends and to Brian and Jan, John and Sue, Martin and Pat, and Jocelyne and Wolf, thank-you for caring so much for our Dad – he was blessed. Alison and Lisa’s pets, Cass, Cub, Chester, Turbo and Tedley Lamar will miss their Grandpa so much. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
