Condolences
My family first met the Proulx's when we lived in Surrey BC. When we had a house fire and I was only 4 or 5 years old they took us in without hesitation. Phyllis was my second mom and one of the most caring people I have ever had the privilege to know all be it for a short time as our families drifted apart only to cross paths occasionally. I would like to say that she is with with her youngest daughter and at peace. Rest in the heaven Mom Phillis till we see each other again.... god bless you and Janine. .
Spent 55 yrs dancing around in and out of her life but finally finding some sort of family still left in me and her . I spent the last 3 years trying to help her in life and her home . My own wife and kids played a large part with her as well
We all loved the trip to Mexico the family took in 2020 . And I couldn't ask for a better , slightly crazy or fun mother in the world .
I already miss you .
P.S meet you in CABO for some tequila again
Randy
My memory is of a story that I have never forgotten, that my mom told me long ago. It's a true story, a story about courage and determination; words and actions, that I learned from my mother, her Legacy to me, making me the woman I am today.
Some people confuse definitions so I have given those so that you can see how I view my mom.
COURAGE : mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty
Use the adjective resolute to describe a purposeful and determined person, someone who wants to do something very much, and won't let anything get in the way.
Synonyms:
brave, courageous
possessing or displaying courage; able to face and deal with danger or fear without flinching.
My Mom reveled at a new challenge or life daring her, because if there was a will there was a way. Mom, my grandmother, and her siblings were abandoned by her dad. Mom had the chore, even when the snow was as tall as she was, blizzards blowing to collect the milk from the farm, miles down the road; she did this without complaint. My mom wasn't meant to be here in this world because she had a severe cleft palate. In her day babies were just left to die. Gung my grandmother was told to let her die, but neither would accept that and my mom thrived; she was determined to live and as we all know she did. Since the day of her birth mom hasn't backed down she stood her ground every day courageous until the day that her Grandpa met her taking her in to that peaceful place.
It is because of my mom that I have courage, that I fight adversity, and that I rise up overcoming the challenges that life gives us day to day.
I remember waiting at mom's bedroom window waiting for Phyllis to come home from school. Also when she gave me gum when I started school. She told me to save for recess but I didn't listen. I got caught and had to sit in a corner. Also listening to her records and having to guess singer and or song for hours. Many more but another time. RIP dear sister til we meet again
