Obituary of Phyllis Mae Proulx

December 9, 1939 – Vita, Manitoba

August 5, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Mae Proulx announce her peaceful passing on August 5th, 2022, at the age of 82 years old.

Born in Vita, Manitoba, Phyllis called many places her home, but settled in Didsbury, AB as her final destination. Phyllis was passionate about photography, owning her own Camera store named “My Mon Image” with her husband, Marcel. In her later years, she also began to enjoy painting where she would willingly give out her masterpieces to anyone who would compliment them. Phyllis also loved computers. She was always up to date on the recent models and was always using email to communicate when she wasn't scrolling on Ancestry.com. Finally, Phyllis was gifted with her ability to communicate with animals, with dogs in particular. She always saw the beauty in every dog, and provided her animals with love, tenderness, and care through their years.

Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 63 years, Marcel Proulx; her children, Michelle Campbell, Marcel Jr Proulx, Randy Proulx, and will be reunited with her late daughter Janine Proulx. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and numerous other relatives and dear friends.

Following a lengthy battle with Dementia, Phyllis continued to practice her resilience and strength and always followed it with a smile. The family would like to thank Monterey Seniors Village and the staff who supported and provided her care during her stay.

Here’s to a life spent bringing joy and laughter to others.
