Obituary of Madge Clarke

Dorothy “Madge” Clarke (nee Thomas), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the age of 95 years.

 

Madge graduated from the Toronto Conservatory of Music, with a degree in Music, as well as, The Trinity College of Music London, with a degree in Voice.  She worked as an organist, pianist, and choir director at various churches in Calgary, AB. Madge was a beloved member of many faiths and music-based organizations. 

 

Madge met and married her beloved husband, Earl, and has now rejoined him to continue celebrating their lives together.

 

Madge accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her two grandsons, Leighton, and Joshua. She loved to travel with Earl; their most memorable vacations were when they visited Vienna, Austria; Hawaii; and after Earl’s passing, her visit with her daughter in Germany.

 

She will be most remembered for the love she had for her family, friends, and her deep love and passion for music.

 

Madge is survived by her son David Clarke of Calgary, AB,  daughter, Barbara Moser, and son-in-law Siegfried of Germany,  two grandchildren Leighton Barron, and Joshua Barron of Calgary, AB;  niece Marilyn Logan and her husband Rodger, nephew Evan Thomas and his wife Anne,  niece Cathy Abraham,  nephew Terry Clarke and his wife Barb, as well as niece Susan Clarke and her daughter Molly.

 

Besides her loving husband Earl, Madge was predeceased by her mother Margaret Thomas, father William Thomas, and her brother Glynn Thomas.

 

A private family-only service will be held in Calgary. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
