Celebration of Life
Reception
Condolences
I am so glad to have known Pat. Our last contact was just a few days before she died, trying to organize a date to meet in Bridgeland for dinner near the Farmers Market where there was some live music and great peaches. I loved how she never let too much time pass before sending a text or email asking Rick and I to meet her and Brian for dinner and drinks. Or to the cabin for a sleepover. Or out to a live music event. It's hard to believe that will never happen again. I also loved how she understood the messy business of a big family. More than once she told me she loved the chaos of all my sisters and asked if she could join the family. The answer was always 'Of course'. I tried to upload a photo which I hope everyone can see. It's Pat's painting of downtown Calgary with a big stormy sky. It hangs near a window in my living room that has the nearly the exact same view. I'll think of Pat every time I look at it for 3 reasons. Firstly, it's Pat's. Secondly, it's stunning. And third, it's not like I had a choice to buy it. Lol! I'd seen it partly finished in Pat's studio and commented how gorgeous it was. A couple of weeks later, she phoned and said "I finished that downtown painting. It's called 'Some Kind of Wonderful'. It costs $450 and it's yours. Come buy it." So, I did. And will be forever grateful that I did. There was no one in the world quite like Pat. She was a special person whose memories will always be with us. Condolences to all who knew her and those who loved her. Chris Rokosh
Dear Brian and family
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Pat.
Although we have never met you or your family we had the pleasure of being aquainted with Pat.We also have a cottage in Jarvis Bay and Rick was on the Twin Fawns committee where he made her acquaintance and myself I would often meet her on my walk some days we might walk together and chat or just say hello and continue on our way. I must say I missed seeing her this summer and asked Rhonda Wishart if she was okay only to find out she had suffered some health issues.
She was a lovely talented gal and a beautiful artist.
Please take comfort in the wonderful memories you shared ♥️
Pat became and unexpected and dear friend while we worked closely together on a sustainability project for a few years. Her zest for live, drive, optimism, generous spirit and grace always inspired me and I know she will be missed by so many. She was one of a kind and beautiful inside and out. My thoughts are with you Brian, Luke and Sam.
Brian, Luke, Sam, Donna, Dennis, Jim and families, Flora and I want to pass along our thoughts and condolences at this very sad time. We hope as the days pass you can share in some of the wonderful memories of Pat, and be assured that she will be always remembered.

Oh Brian, Sam and Luke,
I was so lucky to work with Pat and to call her a friend.
Pat’s pen was on the vanguard of carbon emissions and sustainability reporting, and with her knowledge and fierce loyalty to auditable truth, she created a legacy of public disclosure that made a difference to how companies chose to operate. She was brilliant, honest and a pioneer in her field. Her work made a difference. I hope you know that.
Her laugh will be missed, her sense of humour, her unwavering deep love for you Brian,Luke and Sam…
Her voice is forever in my head and her paintings on my walls. I admired her and fought with her and loved her, but above all I respect her integrity. To me she was brilliant, fierce, strong, and generous.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
We first ran into Pat years ago on the bike paths or walking with her friend Kobe. More recently walking with her friend Levi. Most recently as neighbors. Always gracious with a smile for all.

Brian, it is difficult to find the words to express my sadness at the news of Pat's passing. Although I only met Pat a couple of times over the years, she always impressed me as a classy and beautiful lady. My deepest condolences to you, my dear old buddy, and your family.
Seems like a short while ago we were neighbours on Elbow drive…Pat asked me if our daughter Mireille could babysit …she felt really comfortable knowing we were next door….Mireille loved the boys…and they loved her….happy memories … love and hugs to everyone
To Pat's family and dogs
We didn't really know each other, but my daily walks in the hood often resulted in passing ways with Pat and she was a delight.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was a very radiant soul indeed.

It is sad at my age to continue seeing memorial announcements of old friends and colleagues. Pat and I worked together at the Albertan in 1980, and hung out in the same workplace crowd for a while.
Over the next four decades we would occasionally pass each other on the Elbow Park pathway, slowly smile in recognition of each other’s faces and have nice chats. It was reminiscent of a more innocent time in both of our lives.
My condolences to her family and close friends. The many tributes make me wish we had stayed in touch over the years. Godspeed.
Brian and boys I’m so deeply sorry for this sad news. My memory of Pat is a strong beautiful woman with a smile and full of life. Wishing you all love

I am so very sorry to hear about Pat's passing away. I didn't know her very well, but the little I knew of her made a strong impression on me and I liked her immediately. I'm certain she will be very much missed by many, many people and my condolences and best wishes to her family during this difficult time. Daniel Harrington
On behalf of Kerry and I, please accept our condolences on the passing of Pat. I had the distinct pleasure to working with Pat at Communica. She was talented, passionate and had a terrific sense of humor. We have great memories, including going to an Arizona Diamonback game with Brian and Pat! Deepest sympathies for Brian and family.
Was only virtually introduced to Pat today by my sister Deni Cashin; a long time member with Pat in their book club
From all the messages, stories and memories I hear about Pat she was indeed a very special person. Deepest sympathy and condolences to family, friends and all those who knew her

I attended Hagersville high-school with Dennis and Pat. Dennis a year ahead of me and Pat just behind us. Pat was a part of our group many times just enjoying the times of high school! Became good friends with Donna and Al til this day through Al and Dans teaching at HSS. Our heart and sympathies are sent to you all.
Pat was a book club buddy, and I enjoyed her company and the books she suggested. She read a variety of literature although lately she suggested nonfiction books. She participated in lively discussions of the books sharing her opinions of the books and her views on life. I will miss her warmth, passion and presence so much! Condolences to Brian, Luke, Sam and her extended family.
Pat, you are so missed. You were witty, and wise and it was so much fun to spend time in your company. I loved watching you paint your beautiful Alberta landscapes. Your skies were always delicious! Tuesday afternoons will never be the same. My condolences to your family.
My deepest condolences. We have two of Pat’s paintings and will look very fondly at both of them even more. She was a lovely and talented person.
Oh Pat, you will be missed. Your spirit will live on in the art you have made.
My condolences to your family. Pat was wittty and kind and she was such a talented painter. Her presence and artistic creations will be greatly missed.
It is going to be very difficult to walk into our Tuesday painting class and not see Pat at her easel. She always inspired me with her vibrant creativity. She had a genuine and nurturing presence. She will be missed.

My condolences to Pat’s family. I will remember Pat as a fun loving, beautiful woman. Her sense of adventure was inspiring. Pat will be missed.
Dear Brian, Luke, Sam and family
As a longtime fellow bookclub member, I witnessed Pat’s intelligence, her journalistic zeal for truth and justice in all things, her inimitable laugh, and most of all, her great love and admiration for her most splendid hubby and sons. We are devastated by your loss.
