Condolences
Tracey, Jeff and Jamey. So sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. She fought long and hard with all her medical problems. Jane and I became friends even before we married. Our children are all close in age and we spent some wonderful times together. Often after church we would head to either McDonald’s or Jane’s place for lunch. I will always treasure that time we spent together. May your memories of her get you through these tough times.
Tracey, Jamey, Jeff and family,
I will miss your mom. I valued her friendship and the time we spent together. May peace be with you during this difficult time.
Shelley Kassian
Tracey, Jamey, Jeff & families
Barry & I are so sad to hear of the passing of your mom. Jane was an awesome person & you should be so proud to have had her in your lives. I know of no other person who loved her family or community more. We still live in Deer Run in the same house & I think of your mom every time I drive by the Deer Run School. I cannot remember if I first met her at church or at school when you, Tracey, and Kristie first entered grade one. It seems like yesterday. I certainly saw her contribute a lot of time at school as well as at the Community Centre. She was always volunteering for something. Kerrie & Kristie best memories of your mom are those of their time in the Girl Guides. Those were "good old days".
McDonalds was coffee time for Jane. Good on her.
Life is not always fair & your mom was delt a tough one dealing with cancer. I know from experience how draining it can be & Barry still deals with it daily. Your mom took it all in stride & I was always amazed with how she delt with it. What a strong woman & Jamey, you are the proof of that.
I am out of town on Wednesday but I will be thinking of her and your families. Take care of one another & remember both your mom & dad with warm memories.
We are saddened to hear of Jane's passing. We recall many events in which she was part of the story, such as Jane having a stem cell transplant. Many others now live because of this pioneering procedure. After five years of survival Foothills Hospital threw a party for the survivors. Jane invited us to share in this momentous event. Supposedly Jane was sterile from the radiation. But Jane gave us all hope when Jamie showed up.
Jane was also an Elvis fan. We delighted in a party when Elvis was the special guest. Jane shone with enthusiasm.
Jane was an enthusiastic photographer and used to travel with me to the Foothills Camera Club.
A group travelled together to Africa with Garth Mundell. and took pictures of lions and giraffes. We shared food in Lusaka. Jane turned a vivid green when we ordered some grubs. It wasn't her favorite meal.. I saw Jane also turn green on that trip when we flew over the Livingstone Falls in our small plane. It was a beautiful scene, but Jane took no pictures.and avoided looking into the gorge.
We are grateful to Jane for enriching our lives.
I met Jane back when her son Jeff and my son Kyle Dixon were in Kindergarten together. Oh the hours of volunteering that we did together back then. All the laughs and visiting that we enjoyed. I know you've taken great care for your children to carry on but it's one of the toughest things to do. They will always hold memories of you and Paul close to their hearts.
I only knew Jane in her later years. I had worked for Paul for many years but only met Jane around 15 years ago.
I had an absolute surprise birthday party three years ago and my wife had Paul and Jane there and she was an absolutely hilarious and genuinely down to earth addition to any party.
Throughout the years of cod tongues, mussels and lobster feasts she was always a genuine host and person and will be greatly missed.
I wanted to share a wonderful memory. Cherryl and I were invited to share the weekend with Jane & Paul up at the cottage at Gull Lake. It was the early winter of 2013 , snow and cold but not too bad. We arrived had a great meal visit and refreshments well into the evening. The next day we explored and were riding in Paul’s Truck with Jane in the front & Cherryl and myself in the backseat. It had snowed over the evening and there was between 8-12” of new snow. We were going down one lane near the resort and slid down into the ditch , Paul floored the truck and we kept plowing forward & I will always remember James wonderful laugh as she broke out laughing as we were bouncing down the the ditch spinning back and forth trying to get back onto the road. It was so memorable about the beauty of Jane and her inner soul. She found laughter and happiness when life through challenges at her , truly an amazing wonderful person. I know that she is an angel now looking out over her family.
