Sally, I was deeply saddened to learn of Karl's passing and I offer you and your family, sincere condolences. While Karl and I had drifted apart for many years, I have never forgotten the good times we shared. Karl was respected by all who knew him and the world will be somewhat lesser in his absence. Karl set a standard of behavior which was exemplary, and one that all his friends admired and tried to emulate. To those who were fortunate enough to work with him, he was a mentor, a friend, and someone who supported you through your failures and celebrated your every success. A rare individual who will be very much missed. To Sally and the rest of his family, you were blessed to have him in your lives, and our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn his loss.

Karl was a lovely man and the ultimate “ gentleman” as I discovered as I held the door for him, and we would come to a standstill. Then the gentle nudge on my back would encourage me to proceed before him. We always discussed our family.

He was extremely proud of his, and we would discuss how lucky we were to have lived a full and fruitful life. Ever visit included a discussion of Sally, the love of his life. My thoughts are with his beautiful family as you celebrate Karl’s life.
