Obituary of Karl George Leitl

Karl George Leitl of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

Karl was born on August 2, 1931 in Neumarkt, Austria and emigrated to Canada in 1956 after graduating from the University of Vienna.

Karl and Sally had four children Steven, Bruce, Jeff, and Susan. He was always determined to provide for his family which he did very well. Family meant more to Karl than anything else and is very much loved by all- Steven and Gina (Karli, Jakob, and Anika), Jeff and Krista (Kira and Zak), Bruce and Diana (Sophia), Sue and Harington.  

Karl was passionate about nature, he could often be found wandering through the trees, near a river, watching deer and other wildlife. He was a gentle soul.

As requested by Karl, there will be no formal service. He would like all to celebrate life in their own way. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Calgary Wildlife Foundation. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
