Obituary of Dennis Garthy Taylor
May 28, 1931 - October 14, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Garthy Taylor (also known as Sharky to his friends), on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
He was predeceased by his mother Mae Hayes, wife Pauline Taylor, and sister, Mattie Haskell. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Jane Taylor; son, Darrell Taylor (Janice); grandchildren, Nicole, Kristi, Kim, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Keziah, Hadassah, Hannah, Adina, and Micah; brother-in-law, James Jones; niece, Shaun Penfold; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born in Maidstone, SK, and raised in Calgary, AB. He worked for AGT (Alberta Government Telephones) from 1959, retiring from the position of CO Foreman-Cross Connection Frames in 1987. Dennis loved his sports, golf being his main interest. He had a goal to play every golf course from here to Arizona in his retirement years along with Pauline, and they made every effort to achieve that goal.
Dennis was a loving family man, and with his big and warm smile, and his outgoing personality, he cultivated many friends. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
