Condolences
When I was 15 I stayed with Uncle Ole and Aunt Judy for March break in Fort St John. I wanted to see the North and spend time with family out west (we lived in Western Quebec then). They were working, of course, which meant that every morning Ole and I’d hop in the truck in the dark and spend the day driving all over the place. He took me right up to herds of caribou, then gently chided me when I chased them. We got out of the truck in the snow and walked so close to a huge cow moose we could almost touch her. We drove up to Fort Nelson (an eight-hour return trip), and he took me to a sled dog kennel up there because he knew I loved huskies and Eskimo dogs. And we spent lots of comfortable quiet hours driving and taking in the landscape. I’ll never forget it.
Sincere condolences to Judy, Lorne, Rayann and all the family on the loss of Lawrence. I have many fond memories of Lawrence, as the Olsons were such an important part of my childhood. Sending love and strength to you all as you navigate through this loss. Rest in peace, Lawrence, I hope you're sharing a birthday drink with my dad today.
One of the funniest memories i have of Uncle Lawrence was a long time ago when we were all visiting Grandma in Trail. Me and Earl and Lori and Lorne and Ray were just young. Really young, like just little young, but i can still see Uncle Lawrence just outside the front door when a bird pooped on his shoulder! We all thought it was sooo funny.. (little kids ya know) but he thought it was funny too so that’s what made it great!!!
Well that was just a silly, funny memory.
I always liked it when he laughed..and
his eyes always seemed to sparkle a little bit too.
I’ll miss you Uncle
Your loving niece,
Debbie
