Condolences
I had the opportunity to do my student teaching at St. Patrick School in 2004-2005. I then went there to be a guest teacher, taking over whenever needed. Strength and devoted care to her students and staff! Ever supportive and a true mentor!
Will miss my friend Teresa from High School days Smiling recalling memories from serving as volunteers for church youth choir, to working part time after school as banquet servers, I saw Teresa as a confident dedicated Christian & a person with good work ethics. Upon her graduating & raising a family I saw her sense of humor, interest of adventure as travel shared with family. As a friend she was warm, loving , & hospitable, & always ready to lend a hand. I will miss our visits. My sincere condolences to her family & friends; may she Rest In Peace with Our Heavenly Father.

I was lucky to work with Theresa Lavoie for four years as her AP at St. Patrick's School. She was an inspirational mentor and a delightful, kind human. Her scathingly brilliant mind and quick quips made our time together a joy! We spent so much time meticulously planning, preparing, and laughing together. So many stories! My condolences to the family and friends that she loved fiercely and forever.
Theresa was one of those special people who left a lasting impression on you as she was such a warm, kind and gracious presence to be around. I was not lucky enough to work at the same school as Theresa but every time I met her in her role as a reading clinician she just brightened up my day. She was an amazing educator and made such a difference to those students lucky enough to have her as a teacher. My sincerest condolences go out to all those who loved her, especially her family.
Theresa was my first principal when I was starting my career at St. Patrick School. I’m forever grateful for the guidance and support that she gave to me when I was a new teacher.
My prayers and sincere condolences go to Theresa’s family at this difficult time.
Gentle woman, quiet light, morning star, strong and bright. The words that come to mind when I think of Theresa.
God Bless You, Theresa. Peace to your family.
I loved going to her school! She was a great leader and the students and staff loved her so much!! My sincere condolences to the family and friends of "Ms. LaVoie". Kathy (Teacher)
Theresa was the first principal who interviewed me when I joined CSSD. Though I did not get the job, I became a frequent sub at St. Patrick early in my career. She was kind, supportive, and she offered guidance as I began my career as a teacher. I remember her fondly. My condolences and prayers to Theresa’s family.
Ms. Lavoie you were a dedicated, humble person who knew how to help the students and families in your school community, I had the opportunity to be a volunteer in my child school, you were always welcoming parents and comforting students who had hard times adapting to school as my daughter.
I would like to express my condolences to all her loved ones, may God give you all the strength to go through this difficult time.
Theresa was my principal the first year I started teaching. She was very supportive and a great guide for a new teacher. I have very fond memories of teaching with her at St. Patrick School. When she told us she was going to be retiring I joked that she couldn't retire and had to remain as my prinipal until I was retiring (lol). She also supported me in applying for my consultantship and now I am back in the kindergarten classroom I still think fondly of those first years of being in kindergarten with Theresa guiding the way. My condolences to all of the family.
During my first principalship (2005-2007), I was fortunate to land at neighboring St. Rupert Elementary (in Rundle), and I needed plenty of support having spent the previous 10 years in high school. Theresa was so welcoming. I enjoyed her personable, professional nature; her creativity and willingness to share; and, perhaps most of all, her clever witticisms. She was the perfect 'Northeast Neighbour' for this neophyte school leader. Theresa will be fondly remembered by many. My condolences and prayers to her family and friends during this difficult time. I remember Theresa making my last year at St. Patrick a great one! She was the reason I enrolled in French immersion in Jr. High. Growing up, I never forgot how nice and comforting she was to me when I freaked out about my “body changes” during school hours! Condolences to the family. I will always remember her.
