Condolences
Dear Wendy. I will miss those trips that you patiently guided into the mountains some years ago. Our little Skrastins C group became a regular Friday fixture thanks to your patient leadership. We made it up those hills with your gentle nudging and back to the bus by 3. This C group would become fast friends that continue to this day. I am so happy to have known you albeit for too sort a period of time.

I met Wendy through the Skrastins Outdoor Club. She was always cheerful, smiling and friendly. We will miss her!
Today I made a donation to the Salvation Army in memory of Wendy Hayward.
Wendy's memorial in the newspaper told me so much that I didn't know about this amazing woman. I knew her from the Skrastins Outdoor Club and was lucky to be able to walk with her on the mountain paths she loved. But she had so many other talents and interests as well. So many friends, team-mates and work cohorts will also be missing her but all will be remembering the times they spent with this talented, friendly, wonderful woman.
I am so sad to hear the news of Wendy’s passing and regret I won’t be able to attend her service. I worked with Wendy for a number of years in the energy industry and know I’m not the only one who came to Wendy for advice or clarification on projects. She was an awesome mentor and always a friendly face that I admired and respected. She is one of my happy memories and I will miss her. My sincere condolences to her many friends and family. Rest In Peace Wendy.
I met Wendy by way of field hockey and the oil patch. She was a strong and capable woman and will very much be missed.

Wendy was an inspiration to me throughout the pandemic, when I came to know her better. Her enthusiasm for the outdoors spread to her many new and old friends. She shared with us that she was looking forward to dancing at her niece's wedding last summer, and she glowed upon her return. I will always think of her as dancing.
It is so difficult to believe that Wendy has passed and that her lovely smile will shine only in memories.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
My deepest sympathy to her family, many friends, and especially to Barb.
Sincerely,

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Wendy. For so many years she came to Powell River with Barb and Ron during the summer, and we enjoyed her company immensely. She will be missed.
I am saddened by Wendy’s sudden passing. She was a dear friend who I spend many hours walking, hiking and snowshoeing with over the years. Wendy will be in my memories for many years to come.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Wendy's passing. She was a wonderful teammate, fun to travel with, and always had a ready smile and infectious giggle. Condolences to her family and dear friend Barb.
Our condolences to Wendy's family and friends. We will cherish our memories of good times with Wendy when she visited the west coast.
Wendy spoke so often about her sister and her sister’s family whom she recently visited. I don’t have the contact information to reach her family to tell them what a treasure Wendy was to her Skrastins family.
I joined Skrastins in July 2020. Wendy had organized the U-drive walks in and around Calgary during covid. So many of us could not have managed without these Friday walks. It wasn’t just the walks, but a special time among friends. Truly, this became a wonderful support group. Several other walking groups evolved from Wendy’s Friday hikes to get us all moving and socializing on other weekdays. Wendy was such a lovely, lovely lady
Tony and I are shocked with the news of Wendy’s passing. We are so sorry, she was a really lovely person, always enjoyed our conversations on the bus talking about England and Kent. It was so good that she made the visit to England this year, and enjoyed her time there.
We are thinking of you all, her friends from the Ramblers, I know you got together often.
All our sympathy and condolences to you all, and Wendy’s relatives here in Canada and UK.
I just heard of Wendy's passing. What a shock and how very, very sad!! She was such a lovely person with a heart of gold.
Barb, I know how very close you were to Wendy - She considered you her sister. I want to offer our condolences to you at this time. We will all miss her lovely personality and I know you will even more.

I will miss you dear Wendy. I am grateful that you were a part of my life for over 30 years and I have so many wonderful memories with you. I had the pleasure of not only playing field hockey with you, but seeing you downtown Calgary during work days, and at Tuesday night yoga. You are gone from us too soon.
I was saddened to hear of Wendy's passing. I knew her through the Field Hockey Community and will
forever remember her happy disposition, interest in life, steadfastness on the hockey pitch and her sense
of fun.
With my sincere sympathy to all the family. May she rest in peace.
