Condolences
I met Beth at the Calgary women's caucus of the Alberta NDP. Beth told me, among other things, that young people are the future of our party. I remember that at 36 I did not feel young. I did enjoy learning from Beth about unions and the NDP. Talking with Beth was like taking a reference book out, if the book had a dry sense of humour and a wheezy laugh. As I got more involved with the NDP, which I kind of had to in Alberta, I made it a habit to say yes when one of our young staff or organizer or volunteer asked me to do something. That was because of Beth. She really was a woman who showed me how to be in this world. I loved Beth, and I will miss her.
Belonged to the same union as Beth from about 1970 till we retired, still in touch until a bit before she passed. Learned many things from Beth and will miss her. Rest in Peace.

Beth: Thanks for your unvarnished honesty and constant advocacy for those society forgets and for a more fair society. I first met you when you were working in the NDP office under the staircase of the old Calgary Labour Temple. I was an obnoxious teenager who thought he knew everything about unions and social democracy. You quickly taught me my education in this regard was not as extensive as I thought! We communicated on Facebook when your illness grew worse. Your wise counsel on NDP matters was always beneficial. You were a true friend, advocate and soldier in the struggle for a better and more democratic society. Your solidarity was an example for us all. Rest in the strength, equality and liberty you fought for all your life.

I have known you close to 45 years, through the Sanderson’s.
Enjoying a lot of fun camping trips, including going down the Oregon Coast.
So many fond memories. To this date you turn green at the mention of sambuca.
What a night that was.
I’m so glad we have remained in touch.
I’ll miss our phone calls.
Rest In Peace my friend. You can now have your political debates and crib games again with full site, oxygen and mobility.
All our love ❤️,
Maria and Gordon
