Funeral Mass
Condolences
Christine and Mike - my sincere condolences to you, your Mom, and your extended family. Justice Chrumka was part of a committed and thoughtful team of jurists that many of us in the Alberta bar were privileged to appear before. And he was a devoted family man as well. I note that the funeral took place yesterday and I trust it provided a measure of closure for you all. Sincerely, Chris
Dear Stephanie & Family, my sincere condolences to all of you. Paul was a very nice man. I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the funeral Special strength to all of you. Sincerely, Louise Krchnak
Paul was a wonderful man. Sorry I was not at his funeral mass in person today. I only learned of his passing at 2P.M. today. I watched the streaming service on line. It was a beautiful funeral mass. Father R.J. recently was our priest at St. Peters .Paul will always be remembered by me as my mentor inspiration & friend. He hired me as a crown prosecutor in 1976 and approved our move to Calgary from Thompson Manitoba. I do not have enough space here to articulate the multi lessons he taught me One was when to be firm &tough on sentencing & when to show compassion and give a person convicted a second chance, qualities Paul showed throughout his distinguished career.
I will be arranging for a mass for Paul to be said at St. Peter's in the near future. Paul's life and his deep Catholic faith I am confident has earned him a place in heaven BLESSINGS : GARY BELECKI K.C.
Stephanie and to all the Chrumka family I send my warmest regards and deepest sympathy. Paul was my mentor. He hired me just after I was admitted to the bar and looked after me all these years. He even felt that he and Dan Abbot had to approve of my husband. He was such a special man…always so happy and giving.
He was a very good friend and colleague. He will truly be missed by all.
My thoughts and prayers go to all of you

So sorry I could not join you in person but saw the lovely service on video just ended for your dear Paul.
He was such a wonderful man — so warm hearted, so honourable and always so cheerful. He was a good friend and a good colleague. I am so sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathies to Stephanie and all the Chrumka family.

Dear Stephanie & family,
We are happy that we have had the chance to talk on the phone Stephanie since we are unable to attend the service this afternoon. Arthur has a cardiology appointment that could not be changed.
Paul was my close friend and colleague and we will all miss him and his wonderful sense of humour.
Sending our love,
The Lutz family
Please accept our condolences on behalf of your friends at the Calgary Prosecutions Office. Justice Chrumka is an honoured former Chief Prosecutor of this office and a respected Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta (as it then was). He left an indelible mark on the Prosecution Service and on the practice of law in Calgary, Alberta. Peter Mackenzie, KC Chief Prosecutor Calgary Prosecutions Office.
Stephanie,Margaret and I were saddened to learn of Paul’s passing.I matched wits with him a few times as counsel and later when we were both on the Bench he was an always available repository of sage advice. He was universally recognized as a fair Crown and and just jurist. He was a consummate host and we shared a few of those famous martinis at the Ranchmans Club.I never heard an unkind word said about him.He leaves a lasting legacy for the people of Alberta and one which will forever make his family proud.R.Bryan Waller
Paul’s amazing personality lives on through his children and his grandchildren. He will be missed but never forgotten. Please accept my sincere condolences. Dave Howard
Our condolences to you, Stephanie, and all the family! Uncle Paul was indeed a very special person and you could easily listen to his stories and his laugh whenever he wanted to tell you something you would be interested in. Our prayers are with you all.
Love Kathy & John Fleury (nee Chrumka)
