To Kat's family and friends: I worked with Kat and quickly felt a connection to her; I think she made everyone feel special in one way or another. She was an integral part of our OPTIMUS program for over a year, kept it running smoothly, kept us all on track, and brought innovative ideas to the help improve our program. Our patients loved her - she made them feel special, wanted, and most importantly, heard. I loved her dry, darkly humor (though she often told me I was "vanilla" when I didn't get her jokes!!) I love that she loved animals so deeply. She gave me the biggest hug I ever had when my brother passed away - and candy, she gave me candy; and then she kept my candy jar filled so I and others could enjoy. She was thoughtful like that on so many levels. She was such a smart, caring, sensitive soul and has been taken too soon from this earth.
