Condolences
Barb, Robin, and family,
My heart goes out to you as you mourn the loss of your beloved Mom, Mother in law, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. I had the pleasure of knowing her from a young age when Barb and I became friends in Elementary School. She always had a zest for life and was definitely an inspiration to all who were blessed to have known her.
When asked her secret to longevity she would answer “Keep Moving”, and that she did! The last time I saw Margaret (as she wanted me to call her) was at Christmas time just before Covid. She gifted me with some of her famous shortbreads. I was torn between eating them and saving them because I knew I would never again receive shortbread cookies again in my lifetime from anyone over the age of 100. Naturally I ate them and they did not disappoint. I was very surprised and thrilled to receive a birthday card from Margaret last May and that I have treasured as I doubt I will ever receive another from a 104 year old. I picture Margaret in heaven dancing and bringing fun, joy, and laughter to all she meet. Margaret will be missed with many fond memories!
Our thoughts are with you Barbara, Robin and our family as you say goodbye to our precious Auntie Marg. She will be missed. What an incredible life she got to live! She had many friends and her love of people was always evident. She brought a “joie de vivre” into our times together. We loved spending time over the years with visits to Calgary to see her and the visits she (and your family) made to the Island. We have fond memories of walking and driving in Kananaskis, playing pool and board games and of course her shortbread cookies. Her love for her family was a powerful presence. I will always cherish the years that I had in Calgary in the 80’s where I came to know as a friend as well as my dear aunt. My dad loved your mom deeply (visa versa) and she was a loving sister to both of her brothers, Sid and Frank. Our prayers are with you and the whole family during this time of loss. We love you and we are with you in spirit as you mourn the loss of our dear one. . Love, Donna and Wayne
Barbara and family my thoughts are with you the past few days and the days coming. Auntie Marg was so loved and will be so missed our conversations on the phone, sharing memories laughter. And most of all her. Being able to pick the phone up and just talk anytime we choose. I I love Margaret dearly my thoughts are with each and everyone of you. I love you all tons Caron Janett
