Obituary of Timothy James Price

June 16, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta

December 18, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Timothy Price of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the age of 62 years.

Tim was born in Calgary, AB, on June 16, 1960. He resided in Calgary his entire life and loved every opportunity he got to travel.

Tim graduated from high school and after a few career choices, he eventually began a long career in the logistics field, working with companies such as Milne, Craighead, Kuehne, and Nagel. Tim showed he had a passion for paperwork, (he loved paperwork!) and was never afraid of a challenge.

Over the years, Tim continued excelling in his field and went on to earn numerous certificates to further boost his career. As his experience grew, Tim started and operated his own business in the industry, which continued for many years. Eventually, he moved on from the many hours of work managing your own business and furthered his career with Toromont Industries as a logistics coordinator.

This took Tim into a whole new realm of freight forwarding. One of the most exciting things Tim got to arrange during his career was fully loading the Antonov An-225, the largest aircraft in the world. When it arrived in Calgary, AB, he was front and center. Not only did he process all the paperwork required (which he says filled four - 3” binders!) he made sure he was on hand when the loading took place, camera in hand.

Many who knew him learned he took great pleasure in showing the many photos he took during that loading. In between major projects and career paths, Tim fell in love and married Tanya. They both had a love for travel and went to Europe often; Spain was one of Tim’s favorite destinations.

After all the travel, some life changes, and as his chosen industry changed, Tim ventured into semi-retirement! But Tim was not one to sit idle, and he needed something to do! One September evening he was introduced to the head pro at Willow Park Golf and Country Club to see if he could help because, he thought it might be fun, and before you knew it, he was managing the back shop! Go Tim! He absolutely loved his time at Willow Park, and many days he would go to work when he wasn’t supposed to, just because he liked being there, and seeing all the people he knew! And if something needed fixing, not only did he fix it, but he always seemed to have the right tools! Including fixing and breaking into locks!

Willow Park became a second home to him, and all those he worked with at Willow Park became his extended family. He was generally the first one to arrive every morning and would greet many with “Timmies” coffee. When you got the chance to speak with Tim, he would take the time to spin stories of the wonderful times he experienced from day to day, the goofiness, the mundane, the crazy stuff that had to be fixed, the squeaky wheels on carts, the size of the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, and sometimes even the serious stuff. But in the end, he always spoke highly of all the people he worked with at Willow Park, and he loved them all dearly.

Tim was often caught uttering his favorite saying “Good God” and rolling his eyes. Although extremely stubborn at times, Tim will be most remembered for his engaging personality, sense of humor, and his innate ability to make everyone he knew feel special and welcomed. His family extended well past the immediate family to all he worked with and shared time with. Tim’s biggest attribute was his desire and ability to help anyone who needed it, and sometimes even if they didn’t!

Timothy is survived by his Parents Arthur and Isobel Price; spouse Tanya, sister Lori-Lyn (Mike), sister Shawna (Tony), brother Darrel (Elsie), and mother-in-law Marleen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Cindy.
