Memorial Service
Condolences
A man whose life influenced many. All who shared time with him in an exercise class held at Foothills Alliance Church, will share fond memories of Don. We shared almost the same age, the instructor made note of us "seniors" keeping up and doing so well. I am sorry that I found his obituary just today, and am sorry I did not attend his funeral. Love and condolences to Vi, and all their family. I have a children's booklet made by Don, he was so talented, shared his love of life with laughter, caring and fervour.
Sincerely, Joan Spindler, one member of the famous Exercise class for Seniors, where Vi was a member as well.
I met Don when I married his lovely Daughter Brenda. After all these almost 40 years of knowing him I have come to realize that he has bestowed on me many extremly valuable gifts: Accepting me as I was, Encouraging, Listening, saying and doing the right things at to right time, as only a Dad can do.
These and many more are why he has and will remain my Dad. I will miss him.

I remember your Dad coming over to your house and helping you fix your fence. I thought that was so nice that he drove in all the way from Calgary to help you. I remember how warm and friendly he was....I felt like I knew him all my life. He was such a dear man and I could see how much he loved you Cindy.
Dear Cindy ... I didn't meet your beloved Dad, but after reading about his well lived and well loved Life I feel I have met him through you! My condolences to every one in your beautiful family. Love always, briellie
Some of my favourite memories of Don are coming over after my dad died, recognizing the big deal it was that I bought his house, and offering me helpful tips along with the right tool--to cement in the wasp nest under the step, to cut and place the down spout, for example. His kindness and interest in the kids of his dear friend, JF Schleinich, felt like some of my own dad's living heart arriving as friend to see how we were. I also love the image I have of him and my dad gluing the binding of their books, like two young boys delighted with their new discovery. I will always remember his kind, gentle manner of showing love with a happiness stronger than any struggle or trouble. Now he's keeping company in the hearts of friends and family, in a way that's always there. I pray for you all, for an easing of the sorrow you feel, and for consolation in the feeling of his presence whenever you need it most, Mary Anne Schleinich
Dearest Pa Crane, YOU meant sooo very much to soooo many. You loved, cared for, gave selflessly, taught, mentored and helped thousands of people, blessed to know you. You walked the walk with your faith and servitude and have left an amazing legacy!! THANK YOU!!! XOXOXO
