Condolences
Dear Joan,
We extend our deepest condolences to you, Karen, and Paul. The news of Bill's passing came as a shock to us. Just today, our Christmas card sent to you was returned after almost four months. Upon conducting an internet search, I discovered Bill's obituary and listened to his funeral service. I am grateful that you kept the service accessible.
Bill and I shared a significant chapter of our lives together at SAIT. I believe we were the only married couples in our class. Working as a team, we excelled in our final year, achieving top marks. Bill's intellect was remarkable, and our partnership was a testament to that. It's funny to recall how he ended up at Sherritt shortly after I took a job with a consulting company in Edmonton. Our paths crossed again, and we collaborated for about two years, which was an unexpected but wonderful coincidence.
Beyond our professional ties, Bill was a cherished friend and an exceptional golfer. Despite my own unique playing style, I could never match his skill on the course. I always admired him for his friendship and respected his wealth of knowledge, just as he did mine. Although our time together became more limited as life progressed, thoughts of Bill frequently accompanied me. We shared countless conversations as we navigated our careers, and those memories remain cherished. I still remember us trying to chase the bats out of our cabin, that was hilarious.
I am forever grateful for the friendship we shared. Bill's presence will be greatly missed, but I take comfort in imagining him walking among angels now.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Jill and Sam Sherstobitoff
