Obituary of Joyce Daley

December 18, 1935 – Regina, Saskatchewan

January 16, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Joyce Daley of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the age of 87 years. Leaving a life with physical and mental anguish, and after suffering several years with dementia, Joyce is now able to move on and be with her beloved twin sister (June) whom she loved with all her heart.

Joyce was born in Regina, SK on December 18, 1935, to Robert and Irene LaRocque. Joyce and Bob Daley were married on September 3, 1956. A short eleven months later, Joyce stayed in a sanitorium for two years with tuberculosis. Joyce and Bob raised their two daughters and son in Regina, SK, Yorkton, SK, and Lethbridge, AB.

Joyce was an amazing artist and had a passion for painting beautiful flower watercolours. She took classes, taught classes, and sold many paintings. Joyce had a knack for decorating. Her home always felt so cozy with her dimmed lighting and scarves draped over her lamps. She also took pride in her decorating talents as she decorated for many church events.

Joyce was always up for a laugh and playing tricks. She had a wonderful sense of humour which she showed until her last days.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (Evan) Peters, Cindy (John) Ballard; son Todd and (Keveny) Daley; grandchildren, Ryan Peters (Linda), Rob Peters (Erica), Jenae Dow (Jesse), Britney Low (Josh), Jared Evanson (Christine), Deanna Hole (Glenn), Derek Evanson, Travis Evanson, Brooklyn Davis (Braxton), and Will Daley; step-grandchildren, Shea Nicholson (Zack), Skye Moench (Matt), and Quincy Murphy; and great-grandchildren, Laurie, Alyssa, and Riley Peters, Alida and Clark Peters, Finley, Parker, and Dexter Dow, Mac Low, Gunnar, Geir, Evie, Lily, Rayna, Vindur Evanson, and Euan, Elena, and Theo Hole. She is also survived by her half-brother, Charles LaRocque (Penny); sister-in-law, Bev LaRocque; and her half-brother-in-law, Edgar Yantz.; as well as her many nieces, (who she adored) and nephews.

Joyce was predeceased by her grandchild Lindsey Evanson; parents, Robert and Irene LaRocque; brother Donald Larocque; sisters, June Hendry and Vera Geldert; half sister Donna and her husband Bob Franklin; and sister-in-law Bev Yantz.
