Condolences
John was a true gentleman. He was always friendly, happy and enjoyable to be around. Our days in California with John and Lyn were made more special because they made us smile always. A true Royal Banker and close friend.
Dear Henry family,
I remember as a junior lawyer at Bennett Jones LLP having the privilege of representing the Royal Bank and fortunate to have the iconic Mr. John Henry the contact. Matters were difficult and contentious and Mr. Henry throughout was a class act...fair, moderate, impeachable integrity, capable and respectful to all sides...the Justice commented in his judgement that Mr. Henry's integrity was beyond reproach and accepted fully his evidence... John was an inspiration representing the highest standards of his profession and something to emulate going forward...my condolences to you all...John was a great mentor and example of what a true professional should be...his reputation in the banking, legal and judicial circles were of the highest order.
Respectfully,
John Cordeau KC
I’m saddened to read of Mr. Henry’s passing. I was his Secretary at RBC for a few years. I will always remember him as being a true gentleman. My condolences to the family.
I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. He and Lyn were cherished friends of my parents, Bill and Sally. They travelled together, fished together and laughed together for many years and through many ups and downs. I send my heartfelt condolences to Lyn and all the family at this difficult time.
We were very saddened to learn of John's passing. John and Lyn were the very best friends of my late parents, Bill & Sally.
There were many stories I heard over the years of "the Henry's this" and the Henry's that" and the laughter that consumed my mother when she told those stories.
Over the past few years, I have fond memories of John and Lyn coming over to visit my Dad at his retirement residence when he was unable to get out. It was such a kind gesture, and to see his face light up when he saw his friend (and to see the smile on John's face too), is something I will always remember and cherish.
This is a hard time, and I know you will find strength in each other, and the peace of knowing that John will be in a better place.
Ed & Lorna McCartney
