Obituary of John Edward Henry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Edward Henry, age 90, on Friday, February 3, 2023.

John was born on February 8, 1932 in Port Perry, ON. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Henry for 62 years. He was the loving father of Craig (Anne) Henry of Toronto, ON and Andrea Henry and Dwayne Sparks of Calgary, AB. He was the proud grandfather of Connor and Bridget Henry of Toronto, ON. John was also survived by his sister Marie Parr of Collingwood, ON and his sister-in-law Joyce Henry of Toronto, ON. He was predeceased by his parents, Braden David Henry and Evelyn Tanner Henry, his brother Braden Patrick Thomas Henry, and his brother-in-law Ben Parr.

John was a dedicated employee of the Royal Bank of Canada for 42 years, retiring as a Senior Vice President after starting as a file clerk. He was a volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion, Diabetes Canada, and United Way.

John was an avid golfer, fisherman, traveller, and reader. His most memorable vacation was going to the Masters in Augusta, Georgia with his wife, Marilyn. He was passionate about golf and was always looking for ways to get better and exercises to make him a better golfer.

John will be most remembered for his love of everything golf, oh yeah and his wife.
