Obituary of Don Montague Snow

February 9, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Raised in Calgary, Don graduated from Central High School in 1956 and the University of British Columbia in 1962. He was the principal of Don M. Snow Architect Ltd. following a year’s construction site experience with Bruns & Dutton (Cana Construction) and several years working on many well-known Calgary projects with architects Jack Long and Hugh McMillan. In 1997 he discovered another career working in the financial services industry as an Advisor, eventually focusing on long-haul trucker owner-operators. Between 2006 and 2009 he also joined with his former partner Murray Bateman on a three-year commission working with AMEC Engineering on an Alberta oilsands project near Fort McMurray. In his later years Don was happiest fly-fishing and fly-tying with fish buddies and members form The Calgary Hook & Hackle Club. 

His family includes wife, Linda Ruth; daughter, Nikko Snow (Adam Fawkes) in Victoria, BC; Son, Timothy Snow (Jasmine) in Burnaby, BC; and grandchildren, Railay and Tori Fawkes, Ryder and Amika Snow.
