Barry Ferguson

Obituary of Barry Leslie Ferguson

April 6, 1945 - Regina, Saskatchewan

February 11, 2023 - Nanaimo, British Columbia

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barry Ferguson on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the age of 77 years.

He lived most of his life in Calgary before settling in High River after his retirement. He had many friends and was a well-loved member in the community where he selflessly volunteered his time to many events and organizations. Most notably, was his time with the High River Hospital where he had deep empathy for the patients, he was able to assist with and, was a proud member of the N.O.D.A. (No One Dies Alone) team at both the High River Hospital and the South Calgary Hospital over the past years.

A whole book could be written about the many experiences and people that Barry touched in his well-lived life, but he will be most remembered for his love of family and friends, wonderful sense of humour and charitable service. He will be missed immensely.

Barry had a great passion for antique cars and enjoyed memberships with clubs in both Calgary and High River over many decades.

Barry is survived by his daughter Cindy, son Don (Erica), and grandchildren, Stephen and Cassidy. Barry is also survived by his sisters, Connie and Sandi, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Barry was predeceased by his parents and brother Danny.
