Obituary of Dr Anthony PLEWS

After a long, brave battle with cancer, Tony quietly passed away at the Agap Hospice surrounded by his family. Tony was born in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England to Evelyn and Louis Plews. He moved to Calgary in 1966 with his family. Anthony was a Family Practitioner from 1959 in England to 2005 in Calgary, AB. Dad was also a passionate gardener and spent many hours nurturing seeds and planting them to create a beautiful English garden. Dr. Plews had a very busy practice in North West Calgary for many years and touched many lives with his knowledge, kindness and medical skills over the years. His calm listening demeanour was a source of comfort for many people. Tony is survived by his wife of 54 years, Averil Jean Plews; three daughters, Cathy (Doug) Moar, Jane Lee and Sarah (Len) Kerr; grandchildren, Kelsey, Erik, Kerry Moar, Matthew and Miranda Lee, Caitlin, Danielle and Cameron Kerr. Tony, Dad, Grandpa will be greatly missed. A private family Memorial will be held.
