Condolences
Royale…I am so very sorry for your profound loss. I know there are just no words to make it better…but just know that I am thinking of you and your family. My heart is with you. May the joy that he brought to you, comfort you forever. He will live on through his beloved children…
Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. I think of the entire family often, and am so sorry for this great loss you are suffering. I hope your memories provide solace and comfort.
Tyler was always such a kind generous person. I would run into him periodically throughout the past decades and it was always as if no time had past. I remember going into Mountain Bike City to look at bikes after I had just moved from Calgary to the mountains. I was desperately needing a new bike and did not have much of a budget to spend. After an hour of me kicking tires, He walked over to the perfect bike he knew I needed and pulled the price tag off (so I wouldn't see what it was actually worth) and said "Here's your new bike for Revelstoke. You cant live there without a sick bike." It meant a lot to me. He was such an amazing skier as well. Growing up, I would often run into him at the skihills. He was always stoked to see me, keen to ski a few runs and take me to a secret stash of his. This, during a time/era when skiers and snowboarders were not friendly towards each other. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends. Tyler and the Downes were a huge part of our community growing up.
Sending light and love to Tyler's family and friends. Thinking of you all, The Sprague Family
Tyler was one of my oldest friends. I have never known a time in my life where Tyler wasn't around or available, whether it was to play street hockey as small children, ski and get into trouble as older children / young adults or be there if I needed something as we grew up. Even if we went some time without talking over the past few years, every time we got together it was as if nothing had changed - Tyler was the same great guy ready to have fun and share a laugh and always ready to help out if needed. He will be missed by all who knew him and were lucky to call him a friend. Our deepest condolences to Karolina, William & Samantha as well as Paul & Royale, Lyndsay, Jeff, Claire & Lars.
It's hard not to feel like this is some big misunderstanding, because in my mind Tyler seemed indestructible. I went to school with Tyler and remember so many fun times with him. My best memories are several road trips we took together for skiing, waterskiing, and watching him crash on his bike. What I can't remember is him ever saying no to a friend who needed something. I can't even imagine how many people he helped move over the years! I remember that he always showed up late to parties because he worked long hours, but still managed to get to the party and make it more fun. In my memory, Tyler was generous, loved to tease, and seemed to use all 24 hours of a day without getting tired. My condolences to Karolina, William and Samantha, as well as Paul and Royale, Lyndsay, Jeff and the kids.
Deepest condolences to Karolina, William, Samantha, Royale, Paul, Lyndsay and the extended Downes family. We have very nice memories of meeting Tyler on a couple of our trips to Calgary, and are thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.
We met Tyler while our stay in Calgary in summer 2014. We had some good time by the lake, he taught Borys how to wave boarding. In winter 2015 Maciek and Borys made a small surprise and showed up on a wedding day. We had really wonderful time together with lovely snowy landscape which is not seen in Poland. Best memory is when Tyler and Borys were sitting for an hour on a ski lift due to lack of elecricity. Summer 2018 was our last visit in Calgary. Tyler showed Borys how to make a really good steaks and delicious potatoes on bbq and also Borys tried again wave boarding, this time alone (and it worked!). Maciek had great opportiunity to drive Tyler's old pick up. It was amazing experience - he says. Tyler will always stay in our hearts and memories as a Karolina's husband, father and good friend of us. Ewa, Maciek and Borys
I went to high school with Tyler - lots of great memories of skiing, rugby and watching him drive the white Subaru. Deepest condolences to his kids, and wife Karolina, Mr & Mrs Downes and his sister Lyndsay. Tyler was Good People.
Paul and Royale such wonderful parents, sending you much love and compassion at this sad time
We are sending the family our best wishes. We always enjoyed visiting with Tyler. He was always welcoming and a gentleman. He will be missed.
Tyler and I were friends long ago and just recently reconnected. It was fantastic to catch up with an old friend. Tyler was a great teacher, mentor and friend. I am very saddened to hear of his passing and wish the sincerest condolences to his family.
So very sorry for your loss. Sending our deepest sympathy in this difficult and sad time.
Paul, Royale and family. Our sincerest condolences to you with the passing of Tyler. We pray for comfort for you all at this time of grieving.
Only met Tyler a few times out boating at one of the lakes, but he was a true gentleman. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
Karolina and family, Karolina I just want to pass on my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Losing a loved one at such an early age is truly heartbreaking. I read the following....."Grief, I've learned, is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go". Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear of this immense loss. Tyler was such a charismatic guy, had an infectious laugh, and always had a smile on his face. He was the one to always lend a helping hand, help me fix my bike, drive me to the ski hill and help me fit my boots and ski bindings to the skis he'd brought for everyone to try (he always had tools on hand), and drive me home from the university bar with my friends after having too much to drink. He will be missed there's no doubt. Big hugs and much love to you all, and our deepest condolences to the rest of the family.
Our times at Mountain Bike City and riding bikes. Where some of the best times.
I had the pleasure of going to high school with Tyler and knowing him over many years. I love his passion for life, mountain biking, and shorts. I so much appreciated him as a friend and as someone who influenced by life. I send my condolences to Karolina, William, and Samantha.
I am lucky to call Tyler a dear friend. From our introduction when I was 14 at Dynamic Cycle, Tyler mentored me in work, sports and life. I will proudly remember all the skills and character traits he instilled, and his uncanny knack for joking around while always being the guy you could count on in an emergency. We all have that one friend who is always wearing shorts no matter the season... and that friend is Tyler Downes.
Dearest Karolina and family, Tyler will be dearly missed. He was a fun-loving, down to earth guy that truly knew the art of loving life. My thoughts and prayers to you all during this time of mourning this genuinely wonderful guy.
RIP Tyler. We are here if you need us Karalina.
Bill and I so grieved at your loss and cannot imagine your pain at losing Tyler!! We will continue to pray for your family for comfort!!

One of the most loyal stand up guys I've ever known. Would do anything for his friends no questions asked. He was so proud of his family and Karolina fought for him to the bitter end. He was lucky to have her in his corner. My Condolences to Karolina, Willy, Sam, Paul, Royale and Lyndsay. As well as to the rest of the family.
Our deepest sympathies go out to you Karolina and William and Samantha. We have been on a prayer journey with you for a while now and we hope you can always feel the love and blessing that we are sending your way. Terry and Linda Hoult.
