Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Lee Switzer

June 27, 1956 - March 1, 2023

Susan Switzer passed away unexpectedly in her home in Miami Beach, FL, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Sam Ousher Switzer and Aneta Switzer. Beloved by her siblings, Darlene (Bill), Lorne (Nadine), Ronald (Helmi), John (Christine), and Mark; as well as many nephews and nieces, Sarah, Robert, Sarede, Eliyahu, Nechama, Gabrielle, Raphael, Zachary, Rachel, Joshua, Noah, Valentina, and Juliana; and a multitude of great-nieces and great-nephews. Susan was born in Calgary, AB, Canada and is a graduate of the Calgary Hebrew School, which nurtured her Jewish roots and her desire to help others. She was trained at the University of Miami as a registered nurse and therapist. Susan loved the beach and had a passion for music and alternative holistic treatments.

Funeral Services will be held at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue (1325 Glenmore Trail SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow at 37th Street Jewish Cemetery (corner of 37th Street SW and Highway 22X in Calgary). Calgary Shiva will be observed from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Beth Tzedec Synagogue (1325 Glenmore Trail SW, Calgary, AB); Montreal Shiva will be observed at Lorne Switzer’s home in Montreal West from Sunday morning, March 12, 2023, until the morning of Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
