Condolences

I met Fran about 15 years ago at my first dog show and she took me under her wing. Over the years she mentored me and gave me encouragement. This August in 2023 I learned of her passing and it was at the AKC summer classic dog show. We shared some wonderful memories and some of her wisdom for dog shows one of them being always bring an umbrella to the show. I will always be grateful for Frans friendship and kindness. Thank you so much Fran for everything. I will miss you and will always toast you at the AKC summer classic our fav place. Rest in peace
I am Joyce Guban and I have been Fran’s companion for the past year. We became fast friends and enjoyed each others company on regular visits. Fran and I would challenge each other with crosswords and I would perform regular facials for Fran. Her appearance was very important and she was a very beautiful kind hearted lady with a wonderful sense of humour. Fran was always up to date on current events and loved to discuss during our visits. I will miss her very much but will carry a little bit of her soul with me forever. My condolences to Mark and his family and sincere thanks for providing me with the opportunity to be part of Fran’s world. I am out of town during Fran’s farewell but would love to be part of the tree planting if you could keep me in mind.
Fran was married to my brother Bill. WE all used to hang out together, go to church in Shinfield; Saturday dances in the village hall next to the church. I remember I took Fran and the boys to the ship when she first sailed to Canada. She was nervous, but I'm sure she never regretted the change..Jim.
I only met Auntie Fran twice, but the tales my Dad told me and my sister were always ones of fun, we (Dad Lu and me) spent a few weeks one summer with her, and it was filled with giggles, adventure and getting to meet another part of our family we had never met before but instantly clicked with. Loving, welcoming and fun is how i think of Fran and i'm sure i'm not alone with those thoughts.
I`m Robert, the little brother, Fran was the middle one of my three big Sisters all of whom I`m pleased to say spoiled me massively, all the girls were quite a bit older. Fran and her family emigrated to Canada when I was a kid and I never got to spend as much time with her as a brother should. Fran returned home a few times and I took my kids out to visit her twice. Fran lived a life that to me was magical, Rocky Mountains, horse back riding and for a while She even had a Ford Mustang! Her home was a woodland haven for her family, her horse and her lovely black Scotty dogs. Recent years saw us both stuck with poor health and our contact reduced to sending video clips and photos. My enduring memories of Fran are of a fun loving adventuring, gorgeous, generous girl, sometimes a minx, who grew up and became a cornerstone of her Canadian family. I will never forget one family trip with Fran to the Stampede, My girls Sarah and Lois and I will hold her dear and miss her always. X
