March 3, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
Frances “Fran” Anderson (nee Kirby) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the age of 84 years.
Fran was born to Frederick William and Agnes “Nancy” (nee Stewart) Kirby of Wokingham, Berkshire, England on February 25, 1939. She graduated from Ryeish Green Mod School Berkshire, England.
Fran accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of winning dog shows and breeding champion Scottish Terriers. She loved riding horses, and enjoyed hiking, cookouts, friends, and kids.
Fran is survived by her son Mark James Frederick (Belkis) Wheeler of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Samantha (Adam) Bonwick, of Calgary, AB, Michelle (Nate) Morrison of Okotoks, AB, Tyler Wheeler (Nichole) of Calgary, AB, and Joshua Wheeler of Calgary, AB; and two great-grandchildren Brayden Bonwick and Adalyn Bonwick of Calgary, AB.
Fran is also survived by her brother Robert Kirby of Marlborough, Wilshire, England; two sisters Alison Godliman of Blackwater, Surrey, England, and Elizabeth Treasure of Reading England.
Fran was predeceased by her son Simon William Wheeler; parents Frederick and Agnes Kirby; and grandparents Albert and Alice Taylor.
A Celebration of Fran’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
