Condolences
It is with great sadness that we received the message that Gerry has passed away. We had the honor of getting to know Gerry and Marilyn almost exactly 14 years ago.
The first contact was in an e-mail to us in Sweden, where Gerry told us about his genealogy and because of a postcard from his great grandfather John Oscar Jonsson found us. There Gerry tells us that the siblings Hans, Ingrid, Leif, Jan-Olov and Urban are third cousins to him. This would be the beginning of a dear correspondence between us, covering everything from all the flowers in the garden to more serious subjects. It was always interesting to talk to Gerry who was incredibly knowledgeable in many areas!
In 2010, Gerry & Marilyn were here in Sweden! We got to hang out with them and show his ancestor's hometown and also see the house at Hospitalsgatan 5 where it all started. To be part of the incredible work that Gerry put into genealogy was absolutely fantastic.
Our e-mail contact continued and in the summer of 2013 we visited Gerry and the family in Calgary! Such an incredible experience we had and we will never forget that trip.
Their generosity was enormous!
We remember Gerry & Marilyn with warmth and miss them greatly. Our thoughts go out to you, Vanessa, Claire & Gerrard and families.

Vanessa, Bry and Matt, sending our love and condolences. Gerry was such a caring, gentle and kind hearted man. I loved watching him spend time with Matt and seeing how proud he was of my best friend. He once asked me a favour… to keep a check on Vanessa and I will continue to do so for him x
Love Clare, Jonathan, Tomas, Tristan and Evan x
