It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerrard (Gerry) Lewis-Steer (née Steer), who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the age of 86. Gerry was born on August 1, 1936, in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, Wales and was a resident of Calgary at the time of his death.

Gerry graduated with BSc Honors in Engineering from the University of London in the United Kingdom and was a member of several professional organizations. He was a dedicated volunteer who was passionate about soccer, a devoted tennis fan, researching our family tree, and he also enjoyed traveling with his family, experiencing cultures, and creating memorable experiences.

Gerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn Lewis-Steer, his parents, Daisy and Frederick (Eric) Steer; and his siblings, Gloria Howells, Vilma Ormonde, Conrad Steer and Hugo Steer. He is survived by his children, Vanessa Lewis-Steer (Bryan Dyck), Claire (Jim) McSorley, and Gerrard Lewis-Steer (Jennifer McDougall); his grandchildren, Brittany Nickerson, Taylor McSorley, and Matthew Gibson; and his extended family and friends.

Gerry will be remembered most for his love and devotion to his family, the center of his universe.
