Obituary of Kirsten West

October 16, 1947 – Nexo, Denmark

March 8, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Kirsten West of Calgary, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 75 years.

Kirsten was a warm and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was adored by both her family and friends. Her warm, affectionate nature and radiant smile lit up every room she was in; she brought joy and laughter to all those who were so lucky to have her in their lives.

Kirsten will be so lovingly remembered by her children Susanne and Michael, their respective spouses Aaron and Mandy, her grandchildren: Erika, Ryan, Justin, Owen, Colin, and Ultan, and also her sister Elna. Kirsten’s greatest joy was her grandchildren; she always made time for them, talking and playing games, and she cherished this special time, taking great joy in each conversation and moment she spent with them.

We take comfort that Kirsten is now together again with her beloved and loving husband Jorn Ole.

Kirsten will be immeasurably missed, and we will hold her forever dear in our hearts.

Memorial Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
