Obituary of John Donald McIntyre
June 16, 1964- Brandon, Manitoba
March 18, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta
Jack McIntyre, beloved husband of Linda McIntyre (nee Grover), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 58 years.
Jack was born in Brandon, Manitoba on June 16, 1964 and moved to Calgary in the late 1960’s. Jack married Linda in 1984 and they had two children who were his pride and joy. Jack and Linda had 38 loving years together.
Jack graduated from SAIT with a Journeyman Welding degree in 1990 and soon started up McIntyre Welding. Jack accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his sons, his home, his work, and his car.
Jack had a passion for getting out on the road and driving. He had a fantastic sense of humour and anyone that met Jack always came away with a smile.
Jack’s most memorable vacation was when he went to Las Vegas for the Barrett Jackson car show. He loves his cars and would take the boys to show and shines all over the province.
He will be most remembered for his unfailing joy for life and the compassion he had for all those he came into contact with (friends and strangers). He made everyone feel special.
Besides his loving wife Linda, Jack is survived by his two sons, John and Mark (Randi) of Calgary, Alberta. Jack is also survived by his sister Donna (Mike) of Vancouver, BC and brother Darcy (Carol) of Stettler, AB; sister-in-law Sandra (Ron) of Diamond Valley, AB; niece Kimberly of Diamond Valley, AB; his nephew Lance (Jen), great-nephew Aiden, and great-niece Lil all of Calgary, AB; brother-in-law Craig (Kim) of Calgary, AB, niece Kylie (Vadim), nephew Jaydon, and niece Mackenzie all of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous cousins, and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents John and Stella; as well as his in-laws Don and Bette.
The family wants to extend their gratitude to the health care providers at the Tom Baker Cancer Center. Special thanks for their exceptional care from Dr. Lee-Ying and nurse Jenna.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6), on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
