Condolences
Barb was my friend for 25 years. She took over my account at Burns Fry when Brian Fullerton moved to London. We had great times together and Barb made me a great deal of money. I lived in Calgary, London and Johannesburg and Barb handled my Canadian investments. I remember a low time in my life when I asked Barb to gamble at her discretion on my account. She invested C$20,000 in Bre-X at C$2.40 a share and it rose to C$200 a share before I sold the last tranche.
Barb was a remarkable lady. Bright as a button and without ego or guile. She did her best for her clients. We lunched at Caesar’s restaurant every time I visited Calgary and took in a play or orchestral performance if we had time. We traded Christmas cards and letters after Barb retired. They stopped about 2020 and I was unsuccessful in finding out how Barb was. I Googled her tonight and found she had died. I loved her company and appreciated her friendship and professionalism in managing my account. God bless you Barb. You deserve Heaven and I hope to see you there.

It is with great dismay that I write this, having only heard of Barb’s passing a few weeks ago. Barb was a very nice, considerate and helpful person. We had many laughs together. She was my stock broker for some time and a great after work “party goer” on Fridays at The Bank. I will always remember that smile of hers, as shown in her obituary photo, always a cheerful, bright smiling face. This is indeed sad news, but Barb is now in a better place, out of any pain or discomfort. Best to her surviving relatives during this tough time and may Barb’s pleasant memories carry you all forward over the weeks, months, years ahead.
Respectfully,
Doug Turner
