Condolences
Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on the passing of Bob who was an admired and well thought of Honorary Member of the Hook and Hackle Club (Calgary). We know Bob will now be fly fishing for the big ones in his new home.
from Bob's Friends at the Hook and Hackle Club (Calgary)
Bob was my Godfather. My Dad, Rod Bailey and my Mom, Kay Bailey, met each other and Bob at Naramata and had a great and long friendship. He was a delightful godfather! Always interested in what was happening in my life, and always ready with wit and wisdom. Thank you, Bob for being that precious person in my life. We last spoke in 2020 after my Dad passed away. You have a place in my heart, Bob, forever. Sending love and condolences to all who loved you.
So very sorry to hear of Bob's passing especially since he will just miss Ms, Notely taking over for the second time in a few weeks! Bob and I met back in the seventies when we were part of a fishing group (Bob, Doug Manning, Paul Parsneau, Kees Joziasse and myself) would al pile into either Bob's old VW van or Dougie's ole station wagon and head to the foothills, mountains or lakes for a weekend of fishing, camping, beer drinking and of course picking on Bob for his socialistic views on politics!!
I was so embarrased the year that Rachel finally won because of a bet I lost with Bob. I had to wear a sign around my neck for the next time we got together for lunch that said of course " I LOVE RACHEL"
In later years, we would meet for lunch at a little fish store up by his place where Bob could sneak a couple of beers in without Helen knowing ha ha.
May you rest in peace old buddy and have fun up there fly fishing with Dougie and Paul, I hear the Browns are running.
We lost a good man and great fisher. The Hook & Hackle Club made him an honorary member many, many years ago in recognition of his support for the environment and the fishing community. My personal memories are of a three ring binder full of pictures of large fish and long stories. Bob will be greatly missed.

Sending my condolences to all the Norton family. I will always remember Bob for his passion and love of family.
I am very sorry to hear that Bob has passed away. I always enjoyed visits with Bob and Helen and Bob never ceased to educate me on the wonders of the political word.
He was an enthusiastic conversationalist with wide ranging interests.
It was wonderful that he and Helen found each other and had many years together. They will both be missed.
