Condolences
I am sorry I missed the announcement of Adolf's passing and very sorry to hear. I met Adolf at a ski race about 20 years ago and ever since, annually, I looked forward to meeting him to share passion, ideas, and stories about the sport. I will miss that as well as his friendship, bravery, and positive nature. Deepest condolences to the family.
I have only just seen and heard the very sad news about Adolf and I wanted to express my sincerest condolences to you about his passing.
The last exchange of emails I had with him was back in April of last year and I was hoping to see him again earlier this year, but unfortunately my plans to visit Canada this year during the skiing season came to nothing.
My family and I first met Adolf about 15 years ago when my son and I took part in the annual Bruno Engler veterans ski race on Mount Norquay. He was very friendly and made us Brits feel very welcome about participating in the race alongside some very well known, experienced and talented skiers.
Adolf was such a lovely guy with such a wonderful personality and such a great passion for skiing. We always enjoyed meeting him and having his company when my family and I came to Canada. He was also so incredibly courageous in his long battle against cancer and I’m sure that is largely the reason why he managed to survive and maintain a relatively normal life for such a long time. It is a very sad day and we will greatly miss him.

I met Adolf in Grade 11 math class. We shared a love of driving fast. In grade 12 he had a Yamaha 180 and I had a Honda 160. We spent many hours racing around northwest Calgary. The following year he had a BMW 1600 that we had some crazy trips in. We drifted apart a little later but I remember a lot of good times with Adolf. RIP
So sad to hear of Adolf's passing. I met him through skiiing and admired his expert skiing. I also rode on his motorcycle a few times at which he was very adept at riding. I think of his talent at music and danced with his band . He was unique in his person as he loved to talk and told many stories of his life. He always had an uplifting spirit and liked being around people.
He was taken too early and I for one, will miss him!
Rest in Peace, Adolph.
