Obituary of Joan Hudson (née Paterson)

May 20, 1935 - Pense, Saskatchewan

April 5, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Joan Hudson of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Born in 1935 in Pense, SK, Joan came from a family with strong pioneer roots.  Her grandparents were the first settlers to be married in the town back in 1885.  Joan's parents, Mary Alice Wilkinson of Lumsden, SK and John Paterson of Finedon, Northants, England, instilled in her a deep appreciation for hard work and determination.

Sadly, Joan’s husband Donald passed away in 2015, but she remained surrounded by the love of her extended family, including several cousins, as well as many close friends who cherished her dearly.

As per Joan’s wishes, no formal service will be held to commemorate her passing. Instead, she will be laid to rest at Kelowna Cemetery through inurnment. Though she will be missed by many, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
