Obituary of Jonathan Morgan
June 5, 1976 – Pink Mountain, British Columbia
April 6, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
Jonathan Morgan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Calgary, AB. He was only 46 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. Jonathan was born on June 5, 1976.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Melonie Morgan (née Murchison) and son, Grayson Morgan. He is also survived by his mother Sheila Morgan, and siblings Timothy Morgan (Dwana), Patricia Morgan (Patrick), Valorie Kukovica (Matthew) and sister-in-law Megan Murchison. He is also loved and remembered by his nieces and nephews Samantha and Alexis Genge, Finnegan Kukovica, Landon and Lane Morgan and Asher Foord-Murchison. He will also be deeply missed by many friends and extended family. Jonathan was predeceased by his father Barry Morgan, grandparents Clifford and Rita Morgan, Graham and Ann Gammell and his father-in-law, Ian Murchison.
Jonathan was born in a log cabin in the Pink Mountain area of British Columbia. He grew up in Wetaskiwin and Leduc making many long-lasting friendships. He then went on to attend the University of Alberta majoring in Economics with a minor in Geology. Following university, Jonathan travelled and worked around the world before settling down in Calgary, AB after meeting his wife. Jon worked the majority of his career in the Energy Industry and enjoyed the challenge that was presented with each role he took on.
Jonathan was a caring soul who took on many passions some of which included: skiing, tennis, hiking, golf, researching family history, traveling, a nice Italian red wine, time in the mountains, time at his cabin in Invermere, and spending time with family and friends.
Jonathan was an incredible person inside and out. He cared so deeply for the people around him. He was an incredible father. He was so kind and passionate. He made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
Services will be held at Pinebrook Golf & Country Club on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Please note, the best access to Pinebrook Golf & Country Club is via 17th Avenue due to construction of the SW ring road. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
