Condolences
I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of Clare. Losing someone we love is never easy, and I cannot begin to imagine the pain and grief that your family must be feeling at this time.
Clare was a remarkable person, and her passing has left a void that cannot be filled. She was kind, caring, and always had a smile on her face. She meant so much to me and to all of you and she will be dearly missed.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I hope that you can find comfort in the memories you shared with your mother.
If there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask
With heartfelt sympathy,
Margot
I was sad to see Clare's obituary in the Calgary Herald this weekend. My husband and I send condolences to the family. As you all probably know, Clare loved clothes. She and I became fast friends when we were in the first location of our store Pacey's in Mount Royal Village in the late 80's. She and I shared many loves - those of clothes, the arts, and travel. She was always fun to help. I loved helping her put outfits together, and she always looked elegant in whatever she put on.
Years later when she learned that our son, Louis was in the arts, she made sure to always ask me about how he was doing in his career in NYC. It meant a lot to me that she was sincere in her asking and truly interested in his progress and life. She and I spent several lovely lunches talking about plays and movies and she also filled me in on her childhood, which was fascinating and her children.
It was an honour for me to call her a friend. So nice to have an older friend who shared her life and respected what I did. The pandemic got in the way of our friendship. I hadn't seen her for several years. But have often thought of her fondly, and love the memories that I do have of our times together. With Love, Katie Pearlman
