Hello, my name is Charli Slater, I had the privilege
of knowing Wendy since 1979. She really was a Great lady. We had this thing that we did Every birthday, I would call her to sing Happy Birthday, she would call me on my birthday and sing to me also.

Doug and Wendy’s family. Such a tragic loss of a vivacious, fun-loving, larger than life woman who was so much admired and by respected by everyone she came into contact with. Her impact on so many people will be long remembered and we are so saddened by the loss of this beautiful person. Sincere condolences to Doug and her entire family. She will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Doug, family and friends on the tragic loss of Wendy. We enjoyed many trips over the years and have fond memories to cherish. A great loss to all and Wendy will be sadly missed.
Hello to all who know and love Wendy. I did not know her well, or see her often. She is memorable, Wendy is a bright one, alright; and could she dress!! I can see her slender frame, pencil thin jeans with the cuff folded at the perfect height, matching everything- she is clothing art in motion! It was lovely to hear more about her beautiful life thru your posts. I recall her liveliness and presence- she was on the ball, that sister of ours. On one occasion, she made a snap decision that floored me- her clarity and agility were brilliant. I still talk about that time!
I live a few blocks from the site of her Great Transition- from this life to the next. It is now a blessed place- the place from which she headed Home. Next time I'm walking there, I'll look for bits of angels wings. Maria Vanderham
Doug and Family:
We were shocked and saddened by the tragic news of Wendy's passing; we offer our sincere condolences at this difficult time. Wendy provided us travel advice over many years; most recently a planned trip to her beloved Italy. Wendy was the consummate professional and demonstrated that with extraordinary communication skills, timely experience based advice, patience, and above all, heartfelt kindness. Wendy will be missed; her family, her industry, her colleagues, her clients will be challenged in filling the huge void left by her passing.
Sincerely,
David and Diana Paisley
So incredibly sorry for your loss. Wendy helped me plan a bucket list trip to both Italy and Vietnam. Both of which changed my life for the better.
Words are hard to find. Two of my biggest pleasures in retirement are traveling and working with Wendy 'cooking up' adventures. Although we rarely met, we always managed to find a laugh, whether it was over the telephone, texts or emails. She was more than a cracker jack travel agent, she was a maestro. Rest In Peace Wendy.
I have been trying for weeks to find the words to pay tribute to Wendy. Incredible runner, best ever travel agent, super person, great friend, forever missed. We spent over 1000 hours running together, laughed over dumb jokes, talked about the older generation and the younger generation, shared trails, swapped stories, poked fun at our friends, laughed when we were humbled by our friends, cared for each other and each other's people. I am so happy she and Doug found each other and I am so sorry for where this leaves him. I am not sure I ever finished ahead of her in a marathon but I distinctly remembering her trying to help me qualify for Boston (I achieved that at Sacramento where she ran by my side and helped me keep my pace). I suppose the best tribute is in the number of tears I have shed for her. I am so happy that I knew her and so heartbroken that she's gone.
I was and still am so saddened by the sudden tragic loss of Wendy. We worked together for over 10 years and had such a fun, successful office. My sincere condolences to Doug, Bruce and all of Wendy's family, friends and clients... she will be missed so very much. Such a huge loss of an incredible woman.
With Wendy's passing, I have lost a great colleague. She was always willing to help and to give advice. She was always cheerful. Work will not be the same without her.
Its incredibly hard to think of the travel business we’ve all grown up in together without thinking about Wendy! One of the most loveable human beings ever and such a cherished friend! Whether by phone for a quick call or in person, Wendy lit the room! She had an air of confidence and joy and she lived for the moment! My deepest condolences to Doug and her entire family and friends. I will always think of Wendy! Lady of Zion!!!!
Our hearts are heavy after hearing of Wendy’s untimely passing. Please accept our sincerest condolences to Doug and all of Wendy’s family. May you all find peace and healing as time passes. Wendy lives on in our beloved memories and that cannot be taken away.
