June 9, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Wendy Dianne Hoag announces her unexpected death Friday, June 9, 2023, at the age of 64 years.

Born and raised in Grande Prairie, AB, Wendy called Calgary home for over 40 years. Wendy loved her life and lived it fully with energy and joy. She and her partner Doug shared many passions including travelling the world, cycling, running, hiking, good food, music, entertaining, friends and lots of laughter. All done with love. Wendy turned her lifelong passion for travel into a highly successful business providing decades of unparalleled commitment and specialized service to clients who often became friends.  She excelled in running and was qualified as a Boston marathon runner for 10 years, dedicated many volunteer hours to the Calgary running community and always loved time on the trails with Doug and her running buddies.

She was an irreplaceable and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and a loving and supportive friend, and each of those roles gave her a special happiness.

Wendy leaves behind many who love her dearly.  She is survived by her partner of 18 years Douglas Britton, her mother Jean Hoag, her brother Bruce Hoag (Shara Line), her sister Laurie Stalker (Glen), niece Meghan Smolnicky (James) and children Norah, Fiona, and Maeve, niece Alison Stalker (Bill Leinweber) and son Ellis, niece Jill Rogers (Ben) and children Finley and Campbell, niece Jackie Book (Steven Radvak) and children Emmett, William, and Charlotte, and niece Laura Book (Steve MacLean), Doug’s parents Barbara and Robert Britton and family, as well as many cousins and other family members. Wendy was predeceased by her brother Glenn in 1981 and her father Harry William Hoag in 2004.

Wendy, you will always be in our hearts.
