Carol enjoyed gardening, vacationing, and reading. Travel with Terry or the family took her to Europe, the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, Cuba, Mexico, and Disneyland. She was extremely fond of the family summer vacations to Kalamalka Lake, BC, an area she dearly loved. Christmas was a special time of year for her where decorating, and showcasing the house gave her so much joy.
She will be most remembered for her love of her family, Carol’s dedication to her family was unwavering. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom for the entire duration of her children’s primary and secondary schooling, and took great pride in volunteering at their schools, and extracurricular activities. She was extremely proud of her children, and the responsible adults they have come to be. Although she only had a short time to know her first grandchild, Edith was the brightest light that she had ever hoped for.
Carol was also devoted to the family’s furry friends, including cats Charlie, and Cory, horses Allie, and Sonny. Cory, and Sonny will deeply miss her.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Carol’s long-time friend Shirley Hungar for her devoted companionship over the years, and her immense support since Carol’s diagnosis.
A special thanks is extended to Unit 47 of the Foothills Medical Center who provided exemplary care, and compassion for Carol in her final days. Also, to WellSpring/Randy O’Dell House, a community that provided Carol with support, and friendship during her battle. Prairie Pet Rescue connected Carol with Cory, who she often referred to as her “therapy cat”.
