Condolences
My condolences to the Solohub family. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Nexen a number of years ago and just learned of his passing today. He was incredibly knowledgeable about so many things, and had some great stories and experiences from his time in oil and gas. I still tell many of his stories today to my friends and colleagues. Rest in Peace Jim...I hope heaven is as beautiful as the lake cabin you described to me many years ago.
Jim was my first supervisor in Mobil Nigeria. In fact, my employment interview didn't take 5 minutes before he concluded I would be employed. Nice, straightforward and hardworking guy.
My condolences to his family especially his wife Dorothy.
May his soul rest in peace.
Victor
Our sincerest condolences to every member of Jim's family. I was privileged to work on Jim's IT team at Petro Canada for 14 years, in Calgary. He was a nice man who got and kept our respect and everybody felt that way about him. I still retell a "royal" story of his to people, over a beer or wine, that was truly a funny story. I always start the story, "Our IT Director at Petro Canada, Jim ..." now I'll add "May he rest in peace" as I lift my glass. Africa was a sojourn in my past, as it was in his, and the IT department at Petro-Canada was about as close as I ever came to "family" in Canada, and a large part of that camaraderie was because of his leadership. RIP in Jim. May God bless your loved ones left behind.
A fine man and a great distant cousin. We were so glad to reestablish bonds when you were at your Ontario holiday place and to share family stories regarding parents and children. You will be greatly missed and thanks for caring and sharing with us in the years we were fortunate to share. Our sincerest condolences to every member of your family.
