Condolences
Dear Hal and Todd,
We send to you and your families our deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear dad. He was an amazing person, full of life, and so warm and caring. I was happy to be able to view online the lovely memorial service, hear the tributes to him, and see the touching photos of his long life.
I know that the last few years have been difficult for you and him. My memories of him are of the good times many years ago when you lived in Montreal and he was my big 'cousin Jeff', and then of his subsequent fun visits back to Montreal, and our few wonderful visits to Alberta. He and your mum were so welcoming to us. He drove us around the countryside; he wanted to show us the beauty of Alberta. I remember one trip when he greeted Patty and me at the Calgary airport with a big smile and a Canada Day bear for then little Patty. These and many other good memories will remain with us.
Our thoughts are with you at this time.
Love to you all,
Anna and Patty
Todd,
All of my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time, my sincere condolences.

It was with great sadness that I attended Jeff's funeral with the family yesterday. He was a good dad to Hal and Todd and a very loyal and loving husband to Rita(Nan). He visited our, mine and Hal's place, in Victoria BC several times and always had a good time but even though we tried we could never quite persuade him to move to Victoria...Though he thought about it long and hard. I personally think he didn't want to leave Rita alone in High River. I am sure he is in a happier and more comfortable place now with his parents Gordon / Marjorie and wife Nan.
until we meet again rest in peace Jeff
I have many memories of my grandpa Jeff, all of which started with a handshake. This handshake encompassed all of who he was. It was forever strong, sturdy, consistent, and you could always count on it, just like grandpa Jeff. Even in the last days, he clasped your hand with intention. I believe this was his way to say, I'm still me even if you might not be able to see it. I'm thankful to have a grandpa to look up to and all of the memories I hold. I know you are now at peace and about to tee off. Rest easy, grandpa Jeff.
Today we are remembering Grandpa Jeff and the many good times we spent with him, Nan and Granny Marj at the house in Maple Ridge. Like my sister, I recall the many Christmas Eves spent decorating the Christmas tree, celebrating Grandpa Jeff’s birthday, and playing in their basement. Our visits became less frequent as we grew up, and moved to news cities and towns, but he was always ready with a hug and joke when we visited. Even as the dementia progressed, when I asked how he was, I could always count on him saying “not bad for an old fella”. For many years, Grandpa Jeff never seemed to age, and enjoyed talking about his canoeing experiences as a youngster in Quebec. He enjoyed meeting his great grandson Emmett, and I’m so glad for the photo I have of them together!
We are very grateful for the care provided over the past many years by Uncle Todd and Aunt Karen. We also extend many thanks to his caregivers at The Swan Evergreen, where he spent the last several years of his life.
We will miss you Grandpa Jeff, and look forward to celebrating your life and memory with family this summer.
Love,
Lindsay, Rob and Emmett (Kingston, ON)
To the whole family our deep condolences. Uncle Jeff always had a big welcoming smile, and was always ready to have fun. We will miss him...
We are sad to say goodbye to Grandpa Jeff. Though the last few years have been tough, Grandpa Jeff always seemed tougher. We are consoled knowing he is at peace, and with Nan again. Their love was always so strong and I recall how well he looked after Nan when she became unwell.
Grandpa would always have a joke for us when we visited or spoke with him. Will will miss that spark that he brought. He loved seeing his great-grandkids too; they brought him smiles even when he struggled to know who they were. Though it wasn't long enough due to our move overseas, I'm glad that Grandpa got to spend time with Owen and Teagan.
Thinking way back, one of my fondest memories is of the many Christmas Eves (aka Grandpa's birthday) at Nan and Grandpa Jeff's house. Even though it was his birthday, Grandpa always had a gift on the table for everyone there. There were many fun times at their place over the years.
We are sorry to miss the service today, but will be taking time to say goodbye in our own way. Love you, Grandpa Jeff.
My deepest condolences to all the family.....
I remember the early days so well and the influences Uncle Jeff and Aunt Rita had on me...... The Christmases, the New Years parties on third avenue and so many other times....
Uncle Jeff bought me a large metal aeroplane for my sixth birthday; it made a great impression on me and I would eventually become an Airline Pilot traveling the world endlessly. I could always trace it back to that birthday gift.
Please know my thoughts are with you all in this time of sadness.
Please know our best thoughts are with you all.......
