Heather grew up in London, England until her early 20's when she embarked on the 3 week boat journey across the Atlantic, to Canada.
There she met and married Leslie McGowan. The pair traveled West to Calgary where they raised three children.
Heather's weekdays were spent working at U of C, and weekends were spent building a log house in Water Valley.
Retirement led Heather and Les to try life on Vancouver Island. Heather made many new friends on the island, and continued to work towards indexing, for British Pensioners. Several years later, they decided to return to the 'sunshine' and moved back to Calgary.
Heather was up for adventure and was never afraid to try new things. She adapted to Canada and embraced the Canadian way of life.
Heather is survived by her three children, Mark (Roxanne), Clive (Leta), Elizabeth (Frank) and five grandchildren, Kelly, Shackleton, Clive, David, and Matthew.
Heather is loved and will forever be missed.
