Obituary of Daryl Rickey Leinweber

Daryl Leinweber, beloved husband of Barbara Leinweber (nee Kapty) of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 73 years.

Daryl was born in Calgary, AB, Canada on December 20, 1949, at the Grace Hospital. He graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Bachelor of Science.

Daryl married Barbara Kapty in 1974. He accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his family and his 27 years of sobriety with AA. He had a passion for many sports, faith, humor, and treating people with generosity and kindness.

He fondly spoke of his time spent in Saudi Arabia, his years with Tsuu T’ina Nation and CMSA.

Besides his loving wife Barbara Leinweber, Daryl is survived by his daughter, Vivian Mercer and son-in-law, Logan Mercer; grandchildren, Luke and Beckett; son, Brent Leinweber and daughter-in-law, Shannon Lenstra; grandchildren, Devon, Vienna and Michael; and son, Daniel Leinweber and grandchild, Lillie.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow on a later date at Claresholm Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
